ENVIRONMENTAL & SUSTAINABLE PURCHASING POLICY
MDM Timber Ltd has for many years been at the forefront of importing legal and managed forest products. Our policy is to continuously improve our environmental performance and to encourage best practice in forestry management. The directors and staff continually monitor and improve the company's performance on an ongoing basis.
As a member of the Timber Trade Federation, we support the Environmental Timber Purchasing Policy and the Code of Conduct Assurance Scheme.

In addition to our policies, we have full chain of custody for Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
The Forest Stewardship Council is an independent non-profit and non-governmental organisation consisting of an association of environmental groups, forestry groups, the timber trade and other professional bodies, providing a global forest certification system that ensures a fully traceable chain of custody from the forest to the end user.
Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification
The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification is an independent non-profit and non-governmental organisation founded in 1999 which promotes sustainability managed forests through inependent third party certification. The PEFC provides an assurance mechanism to purchasers of forest products that they are promoting the sustainable management of forests.
Essex Wildlife Trust
We have been a member of the Trust for 14 years, Our HQ is in Essex and we believe that contributing and supporting them helps the good work they do in promoting and protecting the local environment.
